Confirm whether the price is per group, which exact boat is supplied, maximum capacity, covered space, toilet, skipper, fuel, drinks and weather policy. Ask whether the advertised sunset departure changes seasonally. A fixed clock time throughout the year is not a true sunset schedule.
Departure docks: Belém, Alcântara and the hidden logistics
Many cruises leave from marinas around Belém and Alcântara, including docks beneath or near the 25 de Abril Bridge. These are not the same as stepping onto a boat at Praça do Comércio. Reaching the marina from Chiado, Alfama or Avenida da Liberdade requires time, and the final gate can be less obvious than the map pin suggests.
Read the meeting instructions before leaving the hotel, keep the operator’s telephone number available and arrive at the requested check-in time. Boat departures cannot wait like a private driver in city traffic. For a special occasion, a pre-arranged transfer to the marina can be more useful than adding another onboard extra.

For most travelers, a small-group sailboat is the intelligent choice. Choose a catamaran when space and stability matter more. Choose private when the people beside you are part of the reason for going.
